Welcome to System of Care Chicago!

It Is not easy caring for a child in emotional distress. It takes strength, determination and a lot of love! Children with emotional or behavioral problems need all kinds of support. When it comes to meeting the needs of these children their families often confront a maze of government agencies and service providers, all with different requirements, plans and approaches and it can be confusing and discouraging to try to get the necessary services.

System of Care Chicago (SOCC) was created to address this problem of multiple and confusing programs and to help our children who struggle with difficult emotions or behaviors that get in the way of their education and their future. The goal is to help families help their children succeed at home, in school and in the community by changing the relationships families and children have to mental health resources at every level. It is an innovative way of planning, developing and delivering services to children and their families. SOCC is about partnerships and collaboration to successfully link families and service providers and the community. SOCC works in partnership with families, educators, mental health professionals and other service providers to ensure our children receive the best services available.

SOCC is child-focused, family driven, strength based and it builds on the belief that all caring adults must work together to successfully help our children. SOCC is currently available in eight Chicago Public Schools: Coles Elementary, Dixon Elementary, William Gladstone Elementary, Lozano Elementary, Randolph Elementary, Reavis Elementary, Stockton Elementary, and Richard Milburn High School.
